Volker Eisele Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is made from 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot.
Volker Eisele Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of vineyard blocks from throughout the entire estate. Varying terrain, different clones, and different rootstocks produce a patchwork of flavor identities between the vineyard blocks and their resulting cuvees, brought together in a blend that is essentially a snapshot in time of a dynamic, ever-changing vineyard.
The 2015 Volker Eisele Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a brilliant garnet color in the glass. The nose is extroverted and effusive with bright red aromas of ripe cherries and plums, with a touch of peach and hint of anise and white pepper. In the mouth, the wine shows excellent oak integration, with prominent flavors of juicy huckleberries, milk chocolate, and sweet barrel spices. The lengthy finish carries nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla through to the end. ~Molly Lippitt, Winemaker.

Cardinale Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot.
Super structured and with minerality to spare, this Cabernet Sauvignon offers a real presence on the palate from start to finish. Generous notes of dark chocolate balance beautifully with a blue and black fruit flavor explosion, finishing with a subtle whisper of rose petal.

Cliff Lede Rhythm Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District Napa Valley is made from 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc
The inaugural vintage of Rhythm couldn’t have come in a better vintage to flaunt the greatness of the Stags Leap District. Dark purple with vermillion-tinged edges, the plush and refreshing lures the taster with a multidimensional perfume that fills the glass with notes of jasmine, lavender, and spring flowers. Interwoven into the floral notes are unctuous layers of plum, blackberry, and black currants. Loads of smoked cardamom, cinnamon, and black licorice melt on the palate where vibrant acidity carries the long finish to a state of balance and equilibrium. – Christopher Tynan, Director of Winemaking.
Review:
Powerful, seamless and saturated with flavor, this giant of a wine goes deep in black currants, black cherries and mint aromas. The dense, rather firm texture holds a tasty mélange of black cherries and black figs shaded by cedar, cocoa, tobacco and espresso. It needs several years to open up. Best from 2028–2040.

THE VINEYARDS:
74% Madrigal Estate
23% Cobblestone Vineyards
3% Saviez Estate Vineyard
THE VINTAGE: 2009 harvest can be summed up as even. Not much frost, mild growing season, and uneventful Indian Summer. The harvest was a week to ten days late and the cool weather made it ideal for long hang time, so much so that at times we were twittling our thumbs waiting for the next variety or block to ripen. We encountered fewer than five days over 100°F over all – the fruit developed full flavors without sunburn, raisining or shriveling.
APPEARANCE: The wine is brilliant with an intensely dark ruby color.
NOSE: An authoritative nose - young primary aromas of dark fruit, blackberry & cassis, with accents of briarwood spice, tobacco, caramel and a touch of vanilla.
PALATE: In the mouth the wine follows the nose almost exactly, with a powerful, fruit dominated entry. Dark blackberry and black curr ant fruit flavors pr evail, giving way to barrel spice and a soft, rounded tannin structure. The finish is balanced, long and persistent.
NOTES: Big, rich, young, Napa Valley Cabernet from a solid vintage. Fruit forward enough to enjoy alone, yet it really screams out for a rib-eye steak off the grill. This is a great wine to tuck a case in the cellar and pull one out every six months, to enjoy is evolution and development; when it hits your sweet spot, invite your Cabernet friends over for dinner!

The Madrigal Family Winery Estate
Since the late 1930's, three generations of the Madrigal family have farmed some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyards. The family history is a constant source of inspiration, and guides us in our wine making now. We value the long relationship we've had with the land and the people here, believing that the combined wisdom of the folks who’ve been here for generations and a deep appreciation of these vineyards can be tasted in our wine.
Today, the company is run by Chris Madrigal, the founder's grandson. Our winemaker is the acclaimed Ed Sbragia, who built his reputation over 30 years of winemaking in the Napa, Sonoma and Dry Creek Valleys. Ed’s wines have won awards for years and he’s proud of the reputation he’s earned. “I just do what I love and work with the gifts of the land,” said Ed. “All with a passion and pride passed down through generations at home.”
Chris' grandparents left Mexico in the late 1930's and arrived in the Napa Valley where they began farming apples, pears, walnuts and grapes. They were one of the first, if not the first, Mexican family in the upper valley. Chris' father, Jess, early on chose to focus on wine and started the family's vineyard management business. Today, that company manages over 800 acres.
Chris' passion for winemaking inspired him to establish Madrigal Family Winery. In 1995, Madrigal Family Winery produced its first vintage of 500 cases of Petite Sirah
As a member of the 3rd generation of the Madrigal family, Chris continues the family's commitment to excellence and its legacy of developing outstanding vineyards and award-winning wines.
Chris ultimately attributes the family’s success to a strong work ethic. He also believes that luck has its hand in the equation. “I always say sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. I like being good and a lot of the things that have happened in our life has been a result of working hard; but if there wasn’t luck involved with it or if we weren’t at the right place at the right time, our story could be drastically different. Be it luck or hard work, the Madrigal dream is alive and well!
The grapes for this wine come from a small parcel of 6 acres in the village of Puligny-Montrachet, resulting in wines of exceptional quality. The same viticulture and vinification methods are applied for all the wines from the Domaine.
The wine offers an expressive nose of white flowers, stone fruits and buttered bread notes. The mouth is mineral and elegant, and delicate toasty nuances bring extra length in the mouth alongside a fresh acidity and a good balance.

Beautiful aromas of dark plum, red cherry, licorice and warm baking spices open onto a plush and silky palate layered with plum, spiced cherry and cassis. A classic Napa Valley Cabernet, fine-grained tannins and lively acidity support the wine throughout, while the finish is refined and polished.
