The Charles Duret Estate
Charles Duret is a special project from Vincent Sauvestre for his Sparkling wines. In 2003 he took over this Estate (formerly Moingeon, La Maison du Crémant).
The grapes are today harvested by hand and are transported in pierced cases to the presses. The juice is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wines are then elaborated with the blending of two grape varietials: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for the Crémant Brut and 100% Pinot Noir for the Crémant Rosé.
The next stage is the creation of effervescence: the wines are bottled and yeast is added, allowing the second fermentation process to begin, in keeping with the principles of the traditional Champenois method. Depending on the lots, the effervescence process in the bottles will last between 10 and 20 months. The last stage is the disgorging of the bottles, followed by the addition of a liqueur.
The Charles Duret Vineyards
The vineyards are located in the Yonne and the Hautes Côtes, which contribute to their freshness and crispness, to which they add grapes from the Mâconnais, which provide a more pronounced wine flavor and aromatic strength.

Alejandro Bulgheroni Lithology Beckstoffer Las Piedras Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon.
From a St. Helena vineyard planted by early Napa settler Edward Bale more than 150 years ago, and later serving as the estate vineyard for the area’s first winery built by Henry Pellet in 1860, the Las Piedras site always gives us our prettiest wine. When placed next to Dr. Crane and To-Kalon wines, the Las Piedras show a certain elegance, with a very graceful entry and finely detailed complexity. We produce it with at least 75% new French oak, so there is a floral, spicy, and vanilla accent to the intense red and black fruits, cassis, and black cherry liqueur. What distinguishes this bottling is the beautifully fine tannins, delicate texture, and stunning purity. (Less than 100 cases made.)
Fermentation 70% Oak, 24% Concrete, 6% Puncheon
Review:
"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Lithology Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard comes from a world-class site outside of St. Helena and is all Cabernet that spent 20 months in 80% new oak. It offers a touch more red fruit as well ample cassis, spring flowers, loamy earth, and spice-like aromas and flavors. It has a wonderful sense of minerality, ultra-fine tannins, a dense, layered texture, and incredibly purity of fruit. It’s another just about off the charts release from this estate."

Paysan Sauvignon Blanc Zabala Vineyard is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Paysan Sauvignon Blanc comes from Zabala Vineyard - located on a large holding on the Arroyo Seco floodplains that was part of land granted to the Zabala family before California’s statehood. It was first planted in the 1970s and has grown to encompass over 1000 acres. Zabala Vineyard is one of the rockiest vineyard I Brand works with, full of what is locally known as ‘Greenfield Potatoes’, which are the rather inedible round river stones that dominate the soil and have been collected into piles and walls at every property in the basin. This vineyard is located directly in the path of the daily Salinas Valley winds, which control sugar development and retain natural acidity. Certified organic grapes.
Tasting Notes: Light-bodied. Aromatic explosion on the nose. Lime, gooseberry, green melon, grapefruit, white peach, passion fruit. Crisp, tart, clean with bright acidity on the palate. Neutral oak ageing provides subtle creaminess, while still exhibiting trademark green notes.
